BVCOM ‘COMPACT’ is a self-contained four zone fully monitored, fully featured Voice Alarm routeing mixer. The job of the BVCOM is to provide a set of standard inputs, facilities and options at the front end of any VIGIL2 Voice Alarm system. Like all the VIGIL2 range, BVCOM is designed to meet the current standards for Voice Alarm systems in public places, BS5839 part 8 and EN60849.
The BVCOM has seven standard inputs for two Fire Microphones with priority, one 32 second Evacuation message, one 32 second Alert message, two paging microphones and one line source for background music. Any of these inputs can be routed through any of the four outputs.
The BVCOM also boasts a monitored fire alarm system interface, loudspeaker line monitoring via BEL1 end of line units and audio monitoring of all inputs through an internal speaker or headphones. Other features include music input with bass, treble and volume controls on the front panel, level limiter and DC controlled zonal remote volume control facility with the MS2V. As with all VIGIL products, the BVCOM has a lamp test switch for all fault indicators.
Demand has grown for Voice Alarm (VA) systems over the last few years and VA is required in an increasingly wide range of different types of locations. One area of demand is for locations with a number of smaller buildings spread across one large site. VIGIL Compact is perfect for these decentralised sites.
By simply fitting an optional BVCOM485 card to each Compact routeing matrix and including a BVR Voice Alarm Microphone, decentralisation is now possible. Up to sixteen VIGIL Compacts can communicate via the BVR microphone. It is also possible to link a number of BVR20 systems, Compact Racks and VIGIL Eclipses together.
The BVCOM also has various options including a socket for the OPTEQ loudspeaker frequency equaliser and a chime option on all microphone inputs with the OPT33 chime module.
Due to the physical size of the BVCOM, 1U, rack systems will decrease in height, meaning the already market-leading VIGIL Voice Alarm systems will cost even less
